Become a Lead Student
Overview
Want to receive a discounted price on a
SALUD Medical Spanish program? Become your group's Lead Student.
Lead students will help recruit SALUD students prior to
departure, Blog while on-site and will
contact AmeriSpan if there are problems. In addition, the lead
student will submit their own 2 page
typed evaluation of the program.
Lead Student Discount
Upon being accepted as a lead student, you will receive a
$300 ($400 for Spain) discount off the published price. Upon completion of the
program, your blog commitment and typed
evaluation, you'll receive a refund for another
$350. Plus, you will receive a $50
discount for each person you
recruited to the program (they must list
your name on their application as how
they heard about the program). You
have the potential to go for free!
How To Become A lead Student
Please note that we only
accept one lead student per
program. If you are interested
becoming a lead student, you
will need to submit a current resume and
a letter of intent describing why you
would be a good candidate for lead student and
the ways you plan to recruit
students. Send to
salud@amerispan.com, or fax it to us at 215-751-1986. We will inform you whether you have been accepted or not.
Upon acceptance, please submit the SALUD
application along with your $100
registration fee. Important note: Lead
students are only accepted to the SALUD

Requirements
| The following are the
minimum requirements that must
be completed prior to departure,
during your trip and after your
trip: |

Facebook Fan - Become a Fan of
AmeriSpan's Facebook page (Prior to
Departure)

Blog About It - Blog (if you have a
blog) and/or Post (if you
are on Facebook) something
about the program with a
link to the program (Prior
to Departure)

Tell Us About You - Submit a few sentences
about yourself and if you
want a photo so we can post
it with the program listing.

Spread the Word -Contact your on-campus
AMSA representative and
other on-campus contacts (student union,
Spanish clubs, Study Abroad
department, etc.) to spread
the word via email, their
websites, their blogs to let
local AMSA members know
about the program.(Prior to
Departure)

Have a Meeting - Organize a meeting on
your campus to recruit participants
and spread the word. We
will contribute $30-$50 for
snacks, coffee, pizza and/or refreshments.
We'll send you
supply catalogs and any
other materials. We will
do our best to send someone
from AmeriSpan to attend the
meeting. (Prior to
Departure)

Join Us - Participate on a
web/telephone conference
with AmeriSpan to promote
SALUD programs and introduce
Student Leaders. We will
likely hold several of these
but you are only required to
participate on one.

Blog from Abroad - Submit two written blogs/week
(2-4 paragraphs) OR 1 video
blog/week while on the
program. Note: if
opting for video blogs, we
don't want you staring at
the camera, rather video a
class, activity, your family
or something people will
enjoy watching. These only
need to be 2-4 minutes.
(While on the program)

Send an Evaluation - Submit a 2-page typed
evaluation (email is fine)
describing your experience
with suggestions on what to
change.

What You Don't Need to Worry About
You don't need to sell programs, collect applications, baby-sit the other participants, organize trips or act as a Group Leader. Our main goal is for you to help spread the word and provide some honest, detailed feedback about the program.
