Budget Crisis Scholarship
($250) -
States and cities are in a
budget crisis and as a
result they are cutting
their support for state and
community colleges. Receive a $250 scholarship when you
enroll in a
College Study Abroad program
if you are currently
enrolled at a state or
community college.

AmeriSpan
Delegate Scholarship
($250-$750) -
Receive a $250-$750 scholarship when you act as an "AmeriSpan Delegate" on
College Study Abroad programs
or $250 for SALUD Medical
Spanish/Portuguese or
Volunteer/Internship at
least 4 weeks or longer. Upon completion of your program, you will act as an AmeriSpan Delegate at your college/university for one
academic year.

AmeriSpan
Open Door Scholarship
($250-$500) -
AmeriSpan grants $250-$500 need-based scholarships for
College Study Abroad,
Volunteer/Intern, SALUD,
Professional and
language programs longer
than 4 weeks. This scholarship is made available to students who are unable to obtain sufficient aid to participate on study abroad program. This might result from certain types (institutional aid, state aid or work-study) of financial aid being ineligible for use on a study abroad program.

Match Scholarship ($500) - If you
receive a non-AmeriSpan study
abroad scholarship like the
Gilman or Boren scholarships,
AmeriSpan will grant you a
$500 Match scholarship to be
used on any College Study
Abroad program.

Find a Job Scholarship
($150-$500) -
If you
have recently been laid off
or have graduated from
college but can't find a
job, AmeriSpan is offering
scholarships from $150-$500
on AmeriSpan programs that
are 4 weeks or longer. Send
us your story and why the
AmeriSpan program you are
applying for will help you
find a job (hint some ideas
are discussed at

Affiliate Scholarship
($250-$500) -
If your school is an AmeriSpan Affiliate, we offer a variety of $250 to $500 scholarships. Check with your study abroad office to determine if your institution is an AmeriSpan Affiliate. If not, have them contact AmeriSpan for additional details on how to become an AmeriSpan Affiliate.

Deadlines
- The deadline to apply for an AmeriSpan scholarship is 4 weeks prior to your program start date or when you apply. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and/or need, on a first-come first-serve basis. Scholarships are not available after you have already applied and accepted to a program.

more than one scholarship.
Usually AmeriSpan only
grants one scholarship but
if your story or needs are
great we may grant more than
one.
